Stoner Control to Foot Lock by Scott Epstein

Stoner control to foot lock is the seventh in our series of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu techniques with Scott “Einstein” Epstein.

Join Einstein of 10PWLA to learn stoner control to foot lock, as part of our Videos from the Vault series. This 13 part collection focuses on 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu techniques with Scott Epstein.

Scott is the only third degree Blackbelt in the 10th planet Jiu Jitsu system under Eddie Bravo. The ever-developing system was created by Eddie Bravo as a no gi method for MMA and submission grappling. Scott is the founder and head coach of 10th Planet West LA, one of the top 10th Planet locations in the world. He has been grappling for around 20 years and had a brief professional MMA career in which he won all his fights by submission. Scott has had a sublime high-level professional grappling career, with multiple wins at top tournaments. He was Chuck Liddell’s Jiu Jitsu and strength coach, as well as the Jiu Jitsu coach for team Liddell on Ultimate Fighter season 11.

Here, Scott demonstrates stoner control to foot lock from a deep half electric chair attempt.

With the lockdown in place in deep half, you may have tried to use the electric chair, but your opponent has stopped you being able to do so by holding your head. Pushing your opponent’s hip with your right hand, you slid under him, keeping the lockdown in place and then pinning his left leg with your ribcage for stoner control. You then reach down, either through the middle of your knees, or on the outside of your legs, to grab his toes for a foot lock. The submission is more like a toe hold, with your opponent unable to manoeuvre out due to the lockdown.
