Lion Fight 51 Cervantes vs Moraza-Pollard

Lion Fight 51 in the LA Memorial Coliseum on February 16th is set to be one of their best promotions yet, with exciting bouts throughout the card. Featuring fighters like Eddie “Silky Smooth” Abasolo and UK number 1 Featherweight Reece “Titan” Thomson, the show is sure to draw attention from across the globe. The headline fight is guaranteed to be a showstopper, with World Cruiserweight champion Chip “The Surgeon” Moraza-Pollard of Sidyodtong Boston defending his title against Northern Kings’ Juan Cervantes.

“Number Juan” Cervantes is the current UK number 1 Light Cruiserweight and needs little introduction. Fighting out of Northern Kings in Newcastle, England, the 31-year-old is coming to the fight filled with confidence. In 2018, Cervantes fought four times, winning each bout. He claimed the WTKA World Title by beating Italian Luca Andreani on just two weeks notice. He also won the UK K1 Rankings “KO of the Year” with his head kick against Fassal Mehdi on Enfusion 68 in June. Cervantes is the more experienced fighter, going into Lion Fight 51, with a record of 30-8-1.

Chip Moraza-Pollard is the current Lion Fight World Cruiserweight champion and intends on retaining his title at Lion Fight 51. Moraza-Pollard has a record of 9-0 and has defended his title four times already. He won the title by beating GLORY fighter, Paul “The Reaper” Banasiak and has seen off Jordan Smith, Slava Alexeichik, Mark Mackinnon and Remy Vectol to stamp his authority on the Lion Fight Cruiserweight division. He will face his toughest defence to date against Cervantes, with the Englishman looking to add another scalp to his trophy cabinet and claim another Lion Fight title for the UK.

The fight is certain to be an action-packed main event to top off an already excellent card.
